In the same vein as The Bear in the Attic, a collection of short stories and sarcastic letters, The Night the Bear Ate Goombaw leaves you smiling. Continuing to pull up the familiar faces of Retch Sweeny, Crazy Eddie Muldoon and his role model Rancid Crabtree you get to know his characters from every angle. Past, present and future run together with his wit and double plays to keep this a light and fun read. Though it is a collection of short stories, his characters tie them together, as do the depictions of his mother and neighbors. Another humorous back-woods time with Patrick McManus!
I thought his books were excellent! They are such a fun read and connect with the outdoors in all ways fun.
