Watch A Dumb Movie, Leave a Smart Comment

Sitting in my living room, making sure I don’t use too much work to help keep from getting the cold, my daughter is watching Atlantis 2 Milo’s Return. What a stupid movie!

I am one to make fun of a bad movie. It is enjoyable at times to see a ridiculously made movie and usually the older the better. But aside from Micheal Bay bad, movies that went directly to video would be pretty close to terrible. This one in particular uses the same characters as the original Atlantis movie, which was a fairly well made film, but butchers anything of the original. It is a movie made from a series of TV show episodes and you know that can’t be good. Oh, and the voice for the main character Milo is completely different to annoyance of anyone!

Sitting on my sofa, with a slight headache-called Atlantis 2-I contemplate what I will be able to do today. I have been working on lesson preparation for the first day of classes which starts tomorrow.

English teaching is an interesting and stimulating job. It is fun to help others learn something that will make them more communicative, to understand things outside their normal sphere of life. With tomorrow being the first day of the school year it is important to make a fresh start.

Keep writing, reading and watching. Life is short, live and love.

Blogging-What is it good for? Absolutely Everything!

Got a headache today, a result of my body fighting off a virus? Not sure what it is so I just try and ignore it and move on. Life and its little pains.

Got another video blog post up and happy to have almost 90 videos in. That is good, for I will be happy if I can get more than a 100-sort of the goal, but I am going to keep going until something stops me.

To be honest the video blogs have not been a challenge in the get-it-done sense. They are easy to shoot and edit. The goal of posting them each day has brought a couple of benefits and at least two draw backs.

Benefits:

-more blog views

It’s just the truth that the posts bring in more views because they are regular.

-keep me more aware of what to be thankful for

Telling people about your life makes the good things stand out, at least it does for me. You should be thankful for something every day

Negatives:

-not getting out typed posts

Because the video posts take more immediate attention, I haven’t been able to put out printed posts like I should and like many of the follows of this blog had expected

-Not getting my book writing done

This might be true of blog posting too, but anything can get in the way of my “writing” to be a writer ideal. Hey life does this all the time, so maybe it is just one more thing in the way!

Either way there has been one really good thing that has come out of the video blog posting and that is encouraging likes from many regular followers of my blog. That is great and thank all of you so much. You are helping me reach my dream-to be an author someday.

As a side though, what do some of you think of the way WordPress is changing their formats and stats? I am not saying I dislike them, just that when I first started on WordPress many years ago my blog was getting many more views from people at large. Now most views are through the reader or those following me. All well and good, but it seems like far less are seeing my blog now, compared to before. And I am uploading content to this blog far more than my last. Any ideas or comments on this?

I was thinking of creating a mirror on Blogger to re-post material, anyone tried that before? On the other hand keeping it simple would be a lot better!

I like WordPress and the community it has helped foster in many ways. Thanks to all of you and I will write more posts of the typed type in the near future!

Keep writing.

Finally a Regular Blog Post!

Sitting with the sun on my back, warming me and making me feel good, I wait as my wife hangs laundry up stares. The day is quiet as Grace is sleeping on the sofa recovering from a fever she had last night. I have a good attitude today, even though I did not sleep well last night.
My father-in-law seems to be in a good state after his surgery. My mother-in-law is also doing fine. We will try and invite her to have dinner at the house here. She is sort of lonely at her own home.
I have three days off and plan, once my wife comes down, to head out to JA Matto to see if I can buy some flowers for the front of the house. Every year we invest in flowers and have been slow to do it this year. A lupine is coming back in the front and I plan on surrounding it with pansies.
Our pet love bird died this past Saturday and even now I feel the impact of it. Basically everything is quiet. No one to say hello to when I come down in the morning and start up the heater or the coffee maker. She is not there to check on, or to hear her greet me with a chirp. Same goes for when we return home after being out for a trip. She was always excited about our return.
Chocolate, my daughters docile and good natured hamster, is a good pet-but of course it is just not he same. He sleeps all day! And he is so docile that he barely moves much of the time. I gave him some fresh apple today, which reminds me……
I am trying to get back into the juicing/smoothy thing that was my habit for over a year. Winter got me out of the habit because I just didn’t feel like drinking cold liquid in a cold room after washing and peeling cold veggies. The temps are up, and so is my determination to get back on the smoothy wagon!
Maybe you are wondering what I mean by a smoothy. Well I put the following ingredience into a blender and mix them, drinking them as my breakfast.
Yogurt
aujiru (a green powder made from kale or grass)
komatsuna (Japanese horse spinach-it is much more bitter and full of fiber)
1 apple
1-2 bananas
1-4 carrots (depending on the size)
1 or more cups of 100% soy milk
blend and serve
The original idea was yogurt, soy milk, banana and komatsuna-but I added apple and carrots because I know the benefits of these to health. Also adding an apple seems to keep my blood sugar more stable between breakfast and lunch.
Benefits? Well obviously fiber is a major component which would help anyone. The lower calories make the drink good as a diet, but I drink 2 1/2 cups of it and that volume keeps me full until lunch. While I am in the habit of drinking this I feel much better-slimmer is the word-and am happier too.
The clouds close in overhead, but I am feeling good with today. Got new flowers in the ground, posted another video blog, will have gotten this blog post up I am sure, and relaxed a bit. May all of you reading have a great blogging, web surfing, life breathing day!
