A View of a Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker, With Video!


This Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker was spotted, along with others, in the trees of Wakamia Keon (park) in Hakusan City, Ishikawa on April 10th. There were many about in the trees and this one was eating worms pulled from under the bark of various trees. They are about the size of a large sparrow, with stripes in black and like to make a lot of noise!
